3 C’s Of Saving Your Marriage

The 3 C's of marriage are CONNECT,CHANGE and CREATE

1.C-onnect
The simple truth is that marriages become stressed and troubled by a lack of connection.Humans are designed for connection and when we do not get the connection we need,we feel like we are starving for attention.
The longer the disconnection is, the more a relationship suffers.

But the path back is simply rebuilding the connection.  In fact, the heart of reviving the relationship is just that.

Problem is,at one time or the you are likely to get a bit angry or get hurt, this might want you to disconnect but to save that marriage you need to reconnect this is the way out it revives marriage.  Continued disconnection starves and strangles the marriage.Even if it is your spouse that is going out of connection focus on reconnecting.  When you reconnect, your spouse will eventually follow. You are the one that is working on saving the marriage.

If you are working to save your marriage, at least for the time being, you have to set aside your own wishes and hopes for connection coming your way.  Focus on providing connection. Practically speaking, someone has to take action.  Take that on as your task.

2.C-hange Yourself
step 2 in saving your marriage is change yourself.  Grow and develop into a higher caliber personregardless ofwhere you are now.

To be honest we all have places where we can improve and grow.  We all have places where we are not maximizing our potential, where we are not “showing up.”Something happens to all of us when we “settle down.”  We stop growing and developing.  And as we do this, we begin to lose ground.  Eventually, if someone is not careful, the attractiveness that our spouse once saw, begins to wane.  We slowly move toward a state of stagnation.

It is at about this time that people start screaming, “but why should I have to keep trying to attract my spouse?  Why can’t my spouse just love me?”  Again, a good philosophical
question.Practically speaking, if you are trying to save your marriage, you want to become more
and more attractive to your spouse — not less.

Watermelons are a member of gourd family , a plant family which also includes cucumber, squash, and pumpkin that grow on vines on the ground. The melons which are either classified as fruit or vegetable are believed to be originated in southern Africa and now are widely grown across many tropical regions including Nigeria,it  contains about ninety percent of water and the pulp is sweet, making it a favorite thirst-quenching fruit. Apart from that, watermelon is considered as one of the world’s healthiest foods because it has no fats and has fewer amounts of calories. One cup of watermelon has just 46 calories, so it’s also an excellent food for weight loss.It is rich in many essential nutrient like vitamin A, B1, B6 & C, pantothenic acid, biotin, potassium, and magnesium. In red watermelon also contains a powerful carotenoid antioxidant known as lycopene responsible for the inner red colour. This antioxidants help to neutralize free radicals that can lead to inflammation, general sickness and chronic illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, and cancer.
  1. Fight Cancer
The lypocene in watermelon has been found to be effective in preventing cancers, particularly breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and endometrial cancer. A study conducted by Harvard University found that men who ate lycopene-rich diet had a lower risk of developing certain cancers, especially prostate cancer than those who did not.
  2. Relieve Kidney Disorders
Watermelon is a good source of potassium, which is very helpful in cleaning off the toxic depositions in the kidneys. Moreover, it is helpful in reducing concentration of uric acid in the blood, thereby reducing the chances of kidney damages.
  3. Reduce High Blood Pressure
As watermelons are rich in potassium and magnesium, they help in controlling blood pressure and maintaining the body’s proper electrolyte and acid-base balance.
  4. Improves Eye Health

Four Tips to Prevent Sunburn

1.Use Milk - Make cold milk compresses by soaking a clean cloth in a bowl with equal parts milk, ice cubes and water. Then hold the cloth on the burned area for five minutes. Repeat three times. The fat, protein and pH of milk have a soothing anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. What's more, cold temperatures constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling.

2.Take aspirin - Aspirin acts as an anti-inflammatory, suppressing chemicals in the skin that cause redness and swelling.

3. Use Aloe Vera -  Aloe is a botanical that has powerful anti-inflammatory properties.Blend and store it in the fridge and you'll get the added bonus of cold temps

4. Take water - After a weekend in the sun, water is key—particularly if you're sunburned. Liquids are critical to rehydrating your body and replenishing lost fluids from the sun.

Spitting in public

There are numerous individuals, like me, for whom Spitting in public  is unpleasant, unacceptable and antisocial. It is a filthy habit that can spread germs and cause health issues. Unfortunately, spitting is a means of showing off in our so called civilized society. You see people spitting out of a moving danfo and cars on our highway, some  when trekking along the road. This is very common among the people from the northern part of the country, the reason for this I cannot explain
The spit carries bacteria, which once in public can harm each one of us.
Moreover, spitting can cause great damage to public property and hence it can be considered a deliberate action to damage public or private property; i.e. vandalism. Some spit are so concentrated that the melt anything they come in contact with
As responsible residents of this country we should change this habit cause it can go a long way to to improve and make clean our environment

Is Aspartame good for You

Recently, there has been spread of the so called sugar free drink in our  society(ranging from Coca Cola light,Coca Cola Zero,Lacasera Cream Soda, sans to mention a few) which we all have accepted including me as a better substitute for the normal sugar sweetened drink. The common sweetener used is called Aspartame which is far more dangerous than sugar itself.
Let us learn about Aspartame ,the content and its side effect, the side effect cannot be exhausted in this blog

Aspartame is a non-calorie artificial sweetener comprised of methanol, phenylalanine and aspartic acid.  It is used in diet sodas and thousands of other products worldwide including Nigeria. Since it appeared on the US market in the 1980s, aspartame and the possible health risks from the substance have been a topic of much debate. Research has linked the sweetener to diabetes, fibromyalgia and certain forms of cancer. Here are some of the dangers of excessive aspartame consumption.
Birth Defects Aspartame is an excitotoxin or a substance that has the potential to damage or kill cells in the nervous system. The blood-brain barrier is a structure that stops harmful substances from penetrating the brain. The barrier doesn't completely form until a child is one year old, therefore, before a child is born, its nervous system is vulnerable to any dangerous excitotoxins that the mother may consume. Too much exposure to phenylalanine or aspartic acid may cause irreversible brain damage and other serious birth defects.
Brain Damage and Seizures
Aspartame can change the chemistry of the brain. Formaldehyde, a product of methanol, gathers in certain areas of the brain causing degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and ALS. Aspartame consumption can also trigger seizures in both epileptics and other individuals without a history of epilepsy.
Aspartame may contain fewer calories than sugar, however, the toxic sweetener has the potential to cause serious damage to the nervous system and in the worst case scenarios can be fatal.
 Diabetes
Aspartame consumption is extremely harmful to people with diabetes. It makes it more difficult to control sugar levels and aggravate diabetes-related conditions such as retinopathy, cataracts, neuropathy and gastroparesis. The sweetener also has been known to cause convulsions often mistaken for insulin reactions.
Cancer
Studies have found a dangerous connection between aspartame consumption and the development of brain tumors. When aspartame breaks down it produces a substance called DKP. As your stomach digests DKP, it produces a chemical that induces the growth of brain tumors.
Psychological Disorders Emotional and mood disorders have been linked to aspartame. Studies suggest that people with certain emotional problems are more sensitive to aspartame.  High levels of aspartame cause changes in the serotonin levels which can lead to behavioral problems, depression and other emotional disorders. In some cases, the side effects were so dangerous that doctors were forced to put an end to the studies.
Hinders Weight Loss Aspartame can be found in diet sodas and most other diet products. However, research indicates that the sweetener increases your hunger and can actually impede your weight loss. Phenylalanine and aspartic acid can cause spikes in insulin levels and force your body to remove the glucose from your blood stream and store it as fat. Aspartame also inhibits the production of serotonin and prevents your brain from signalling to your body that you are full. This can lead to food cravings and make it more difficult for you to lose weight.
Vision Problems Methanol, one of Aspartame's components, can damage the retinas and the optic nerves. Aspartame consumption has been connected to eye pain, blurred vision and, in some cases, blindness.
